My wife has done the Race for Life several times, and one year I made this song and snuck it into her playlist between AC/DC and Aerosmith. She has an awesome taste in music and is directly responsible for my Meat Loaf appreciation.
I wanted this to be as cheesy as possible, as “Rocky IV soundtrack” as possible, and I’m quite happy with how it came out. From the “rock ballad” vocal style, to the synth line, to the guitar solo and the fade out, I went all in and I regret nothing.
The lines “you’re never gonna win so you might as well give in, not really that’s reverse psychology” still make me laugh to this day, though I believe I am the only person who finds that funny.
