This song was written when the Kaiser Chiefs and Hard-Fi were everywhere, and I’d just watched Human Traffic for the first time. It represented not just my life, but the life of just about everyone I knew. We were all 20-somethings, none of us were married or had kids, we had jobs we hated but they paid us enough to go out at the weekend.
But despite it all there was the little voice in your head, that usually piped up when you had a rotten hangover, to remind you that you’re wrecking your internal organs and pissing your life away. Thanks, little voice.
